Install TWRP on Moto G4 / G4 Plus 2016.

1. This method required ADB and mfastboot installed on your computer, This mfastboot used to send any command from the computer to Moto G4 / G4 Plus 2016 device. mfastboot available download from link below.

2. In order to make a good connections between Motorola Moto G4 / G4 Plus 2016 and the computer, USB driver should be installed on the computer.

3. TWRP recovery for Motorola Moto G4 / G4 Plus 2016 from here. (twrp-3.0.2-0-athene.img).

4. Then, download the latest SuperSU from here. SuperSU v2.78

5. Extract and copy all files above at the same folder. for example C:\twrp
6. Then, enable developer options on your Moto G4 / G4 Plus 2016. (Go to Settings - Tap 7 times at build number until you see you are now a developer.)
7. Then, enable OEM unlocking.
8. Enable USB debugging.
9. Now turn off Motorola Moto G4 / G4 Plus 2016
10. Then enter Moto G4 Plus to fastboot mode. (Press and hold Power Button + Volume Down).

11. Now, connect Motorola Moto G4 plus to the computer via USB cable.
12. Then open command prompt at this folder (C:\Moto), how to do it.
• Press and hold shift key on keyboard.
• Then right click at empty space - select open command window here.
13. Now type the following command below, This command will test whether ADB is working properly. If the test is correctly it will return to list of devices attached.
• fastboot devices
14. Then, the type the following command below to flash TWRP recovery 
• fastboot flash recovery recovery name.img
• Change recovery name with the recovery name you just download at step 3 above, for example.
• fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-athene.img
• Now type the following command below to boot Motorola Moto G4 / G4 Plus 2016 to recovery mode.
• fastboot boot twrp-3.0.2-0-athene.img
• Motorola Moto G4 / G4 Plus 2016 will reboot into recovery mode now.
• Boot your Motorola Moto G4 / G4 Plus 2016 to the system. to load Android operating system and normal boot. 

Root Motorola Moto G4 Plus.

Before installing SuperSU.Zip via TWRP recovery, please make backup your current system. You can restore this backup if something wrong occur on your Moto G4 Plus.

1. Copy SuperSu file in /data 

   

   file manager - data

2. Power Off Motorola Moto G4 / G4 Plus 2016 device
3. Boot Moto G4 Plus into fastboot (press and hold Power button + Volume Down)
4. Once enter fastboot, select Recovery Mode to enter TWR recovery menu.
5. From TWRP menu - Backup - Select all Partitions - Swipe to Backup
6. Then save your Backup on your computer or somewhere else.
7. Now go to TWRP main menu - tap Advanced - tap Terminal - Type the follow code - OK

8. Now, back to TWRP main menu. Make sure the .supersu file is in /data. you can check it by go to TWRP - Advanced - File Manager - /data (see picture on step 1 above)
9. Then go to TWRP main menu again - Install - SuperSU-v2.78.zip.
10. Just swipe to the right to confirm.
11. Wait the flashing process, once it finish reboot Motorola Moto G4 / G4 Plus 2016 to the system
12. Once your device ready to use, you can download root checker from Google Play Store to check root status.
